For You Lot Practiced Rats - 1978 [1993] Tasty

The Good Rats are an American rock ring from Long Island, New York. Their music mixes elements of rock alongside blues as well as pop. They are best-known on their native Long Island, although they had about success nationally as well as internationally.

Tasty is a 1974 album past times Good Rats as well as was released on the Warner Brothers Records label. Wiki

"Tasty" is past times far the greatest accomplishment past times "America's Favorite Unknown Band": The Good Rats. I was get-go aquainted alongside the "Tasty" album at a immature historic stream when my father, who was a Good Rats fan inwards his youth, passed his gustation inwards music downwards to me. I get-go became familiar alongside the pop championship track, "Tasty", the upbeat lead-off track, "Back To My Music", as well as the eeire but lyrically ingenius as well as funny "300 Boys". Later on, I came to recognize the musical brilliance inwards "Klash Ka Bob", "Poppa Papa", "Phil Fliesh", the vocal magnificance inwards "Songwriter", "Injun Joe", as well as "Fireball Express", as well as the nostalgic ingenius inwards "Fred Upstairs as well as Ginger Snappers". And thus it striking me. There is non a unmarried vocal on this album that isn't worth listening to. Peppi Marchello posseses the stone as well as whorl phonation that nigh bands dream of having, John Gatto's guitar playing is flawless (check out "Klash Ka Bob" to hear Gatto at his best!), Lenny Kotke's fingers wing on the bass, Micky Marchello's guitar as well as vocal harmonies are ever dead on, as well as Joe Franco's drumming is admirable. Essentially, The Good Rats are the model ring for 70's rock. Why thus did non move inwards large is beyond mystery to me. The "Tasty" album is a must-have for stone fans of all ages.  By The fifth Beatle

This is i aeroplane deed inwards stone & roll...they are top notch musicians of the highest guild as well as this is the house to start your collection...they ain't pretty but they move the chore done as well as man, produce they ever move the chore done. Influenza A virus subtype H5N1 friend of mine whom I worked alongside inwards college radio turned me on to the rail "Papa Poppa" alongside the comment, "Does this non audio similar it'd move a GREAT Guess Who tune?" I unopen my eyes as well as listened, as well as I was hooked immediately. Over the years I've lost a few of their other albums but managed to hang onto this one...I'm rebuilding that collection at nowadays that I know I tin again! GREAT New York-New Bailiwick of Jersey stone & roll...no nonsense, no frills, but incredible playing, nifty vocals as well as super harmonies. Tasty non exclusively describes their music...it defines it! By T. LeBaron

Up until recently, my persuasion of the Good Rats were, at best, a practiced regional band. I holler back seeing them alive inwards 1976 as well as proverb to a friend 'This ring won't move inwards big. They don't accept THAT look'. All I tin state is for those who accept the same or similiar thoughts, delight read on.

Early inwards 2006, I heard the rail 'Dear Sir' off the From Rats to Riches LP as well as idea it was from about other artist. When I was told it was the Good Rats, I started listening to all the sample tracks from From Rats to Riches on Amazon. Days later, I was STILL listening.

Then I started listening to the sample tracks from Tasty. I decided to buy Tasty to give this the amount heed I felt it deserved. From the textures inwards the melodies to the pure musicianship displayed, I was excited as well as angry at the same time. If I exclusively gave them a practiced heed thirty years earlier, I would accept had the pleasance of having this music to savor for all these years. Maybe historic stream as well as life sense accept something to produce alongside this, who knows.

For those that are looking for something 'old school' as well as volition stand upwards the examination of time, (IMHO) this LP sure does that as well as more. I accept since purchased Live At Last as well as From Rats to Riches along alongside Tasty as well as invention to savor them inwards the years ahead.
