GRP Records is an American jazz tape company, owned yesteryear Universal Music Group in addition to operates through its Verve Music Group. The company's cry has had unlike meanings. In its early on days, it stood for "Grusin/Rosen Productions," later the founders. By the middle 1990s, later Grusin in addition to Rosen left the company, GRP used the marketing slogan "Great Records Period."

Dave Grusin, a pianist in addition to producer, in addition to Larry Rosen, a drummer in addition to recording engineer, established a production society inward 1976 that recorded nontraditional jazz musicians similar Earl Klugh in addition to Lee Ritenour.
