Learn Colosseum 2 - 1977 [1993] Electrical Savage



Colosseum II was a British band formed inwards 1975 past times the quondam Colosseum drummer too leader, Jon Hiseman, next the 1974 demise of his band Tempest. Hiseman announced his conception to cast the band eventually named Colosseum II inwards Nov 1974, merely solely Gary Moore was named equally a member. Rehearsals were due to laid out on Jan 1, 1975, merely a permanent unit of measurement was non finalised until May 1975. Among musicians who close made the grouping were Graham Bell, Duncan Mackay too Mark Clarke. The line-up was completed past times Don Airey, Neil Murray too Mike Starrs.
The band was oriented toward jazz fusion, much of which was driven past times the guitar piece of job of Moore, leading to a much heavier audio than the master copy Colosseum band. After disappointing sales of the outset album, Murray too Starrs were unceremoniously sacked past times the band's tape label (Bronze) inwards July 1976.
The band continued amongst a novel tape label too a novel bass operate participant (John Mole), too recorded ii farther largely instrumental (and all the same commercially unsuccessful) albums. They equally good performed on Variations amongst Andrew Lloyd Webber, which equally good featured Julian Lloyd Webber on cello, Rod Argent on keyboards too Hiseman's wife, Barbara Thompson, on flute too sax. This album reached seat out 2 on the UK charts.
In August 1978, Moore left to rejoin Thin Lizzy for a quaternary spell, too Airey's blood brother Keith Airey replaced him on guitar. Plans for a quaternary album cruel through when Don Airey decided to bring together Rainbow inwards Dec 1978.
