Learn Kazumi Watanabe - 1988 [2016] The Spice Of Life Too

The Spice of Life Too is an album yesteryear jazz fusion guitarist Kazumi Watanabe; featuring Bill Bruford, Jeff Berlin as well as Peter Vettese. It was released on the Gramavision tape label inward 1988. The master championship released inward Nippon is "The Spice of Life 2" alongside a unlike cover.

Allmusic awarded the album alongside 4.5 stars as well as its review yesteryear Paul Kohler states: "A continuation of Spice of Life alongside stronger compositions as well as a hint of softer tones, it's real nice!"

I  am a big fan of Kazumi's '80s fusion stuff! as well as this is a real fine album, as well as a reasonably worthwhile follow-up to KW's master Spice of Life. it's non quite every bit proficient or every bit inspired every bit the original, but it was a fine album! simply every bit I retrieve from the former vinyl album days, the outset vocal of both side 1 as well as side two were the weakest tunes of the album, but the album greatly improved every bit each side went along...(and yes, I realize I am directly listening to the CD). I forgot how much I enjoyed this album because I hadn't heard it inward years...but this is a fine album overall! KW's fusion guitar run is yet incredible. he kept Jeff Berlin on bass as well as Yes' Bill Bruford on drums inward his band, remaniscent of the outset Spice of Life, but he added a keyboard actor on this album. I never heard of this guy before, but he was an impressive as well as curiously intriguing add-on to the band. KW yet has his fragile though rocking remainder betwixt jazz, heavy stone as well as a 'spicy' Japanese season to his music. If you lot similar fusion, specially fusion guitar, I recommend looking into Kazumi Watanabe. his Japanese influence actually does add together a unique as well as fascinating, enjoyable experience to traditional fusion....and this is a proficient fusion album as well as a respecable follow-up to his master Spice of Life...but it's non every bit proficient every bit the original...but don't error KW for that, because the master Spice was simply a bright slice of fusion that tin post away seldom hold out matched! but rate this album a spin.
