For Y'all Elements - 1990 Spirit River

Elements is an American jazz fusion ensemble founded yesteryear bass guitarist Mark Egan too drummer Danny Gottlieb inwards 1982. Both Egan too Gottlieb were members of the Pat Metheny Group, too Elements's audio draws from their experience. Band members include Bill Evans, Gil Goldstein, Steve Khan too Clifford Carter

Quiet clearly, Mark Egan's years alongside Pat Metheny had a lasting comport on on his composing too playing. When Spirit River was recorded inwards 1990, a decade had passed since the electrical bassist's divergence from the Metheny Group; merely Metheny's influence remained. Nonetheless, the album makes it clear that Egan too drummer Danny Gottlieb (Elements' other leader) convey a collective vision of their own. This charming jazz/pop appointment isn't nearly intense or aggressive swinging, too tends to convey an introspective, floating quality. Saxman Bill Evans (not to live confused alongside the slowly pianoforte legend) is characteristically expressive too soulful on soprano, too Brazilian greats Flora Purim (vocals) too Airto Moreira (percussion) brand or thus valuable, heartfelt contributions to the engaging CD.
