Learn Elements - 1990 Spirit River

Elements is an American jazz fusion ensemble founded yesteryear bass guitarist Mark Egan in addition to drummer Danny Gottlieb inwards 1982. Both Egan in addition to Gottlieb were members of the Pat Metheny Group, in addition to Elements's audio draws from their experience. Band members include Bill Evans, Gil Goldstein, Steve Khan in addition to Clifford Carter

Quiet clearly, Mark Egan's years amongst Pat Metheny had a lasting affect on his composing in addition to playing. When Spirit River was recorded inwards 1990, a decade had passed since the electrical bassist's departure from the Metheny Group; only Metheny's influence remained. Nonetheless, the album makes it clear that Egan in addition to drummer Danny Gottlieb (Elements' other leader) accept a collective vision of their own. This charming jazz/pop engagement isn't almost intense or aggressive swinging, in addition to tends to accept an introspective, floating quality. Saxman Bill Evans (not to live confused amongst the slow pianoforte legend) is characteristically expressive in addition to soulful on soprano, in addition to Brazilian greats Flora Purim (vocals) in addition to Airto Moreira (percussion) brand approximately valuable, heartfelt contributions to the engaging CD.
